“I watched the enemy running in fear, because Talmud has forsaken their souls, I know that you are eternal and that they will never and that they could never take you down. In pain and in glory to be the first, and eagle and a snake fight, because we are the children of your blood…and Ave Serbia.”
If you happen to hear this song coming from your child’s room, if you notice books by Dimitrije Ljotic, Nikolaj Velimirovic, Adolf Hitler in his/hers hands, a black sweater with “Serbian runes” in the closet or if the police brings him home beaten up after some vandalizing in the city, know that your child has joined the grey army of some ten thousand members of neo-Nazi and clero-fascistic organizations in Serbia.
Last week, the constitutional court has banned the secret neo-Nazi organization the National order, the Republic prosecutor’s office has announced that the same fate is destined for Honor and the National movement Ours 1389, but the truth is that these organizations are working without any disturbances, and spreading hate speech and fear on the street without any punishment.
IN THE SAME ORDER: One of the most dangerous leftwing organizations, the National order, was banned last week, but according to the findings of the Novi magazin these neo-Nazis have continued working in a legal association of citizens “The New Serbian Program”.
According to the data of the Business Registry Agency this association is still active, and it was founded on 24th of May, 2009. On their official website, the forum, whose honorary member is Goran Davidovic – Firer, the convicted leader of the National order, is active and much visited.
And besides the media fame of the Firer’s “successful” actions against opponents, the first place among the Serbian right-wing militants goes to the group “Blood and honor”. Founded in 1995 with the blessing of “Blood and honor/Combat 18” from England, they represent a real neo-Nazi organization, with works of Hitler and other anti-Semitic and nazi author on their website.
A highly militant group, with the aim of “fighting against the Zionistic regime for the survival of our race and nation on all fronts and for the future of our children”, they enjoy a lot of respect among the other Aryans in the world. Their reputation is so good that the Serbs, with their help, are among 14 nations on whose territory the ashes of one of the biggest world ideologist of the Aryan movement, David lane, was scattered in November 2008.
A PART OF THE TRADITION: A political scientist Rastislav Dinic claims for the Novi magazin that there is no widespread opinion of having a fascistic tradition in Serbia.
“Serbia, just like most of the other European countries, had fascistic thinkers, movements and ideologies. Let’s look at the political documents of Milos Crnjanski and the texts he published in his magazine “ideas”. His text “Hesitant war” is a typical example of fascistic whiteism. So we should not be surprised that lately this and other works of Crnjanski are being massively recycled, reprinted and cited in these media of the fascistic right like Serbian doors and the Serbian leaf”, says Dinic.
Fascism, as he explains, is fascinated by the alleged “fall of the nation”, and also with its rebirth through the fascistic revolution.
“It is easy to recognize the fascist by their obvious opposition to parliamentarism and every aspect of political pluralism. Homogeneity is the dream of every fascist and where ever you have national unity going against pluralism, fascism is not far away. Anti- intellectualism, anti-liberalism, anti-socialism are also its recognizable traits. Even though the most famous form of fascism, the nationalistic one, was deeply anti-Christian, fascism is capable of coopting different ideological elements by need, even the Christian ones”, says Dinic and states that there is nothing strange in the fact that fascism in Serbia most often comes with Christian symbols.
UNDER THE MASK OF INNOCENCE: A lot bigger threat are the individuals and groups whose fascism is more perfidious and more receptive for ordinary citizens, which do not flourish the swastika, nor do they deny the holocaust, but put accent on patriotism, defense of family values and ”rebirth of the nation”.
“If those groups “code” their messages of hate so that their listeners understand them with braking the law, like talking about the conspiracy of “the masonic bankers” but in a way that is clear to everyone that they are talking about the Jews, then there is not much the law can do”, Dinic warns.
SNM Ours 1389: The government is afraid of us! The member of the managing board of SNM Ours 1389 Ivan Ivanovic claims for the Novi magazin that he can hardly wait for the discussion on the claim of the Prosecutor’s office of the ban of their work in front of the Constitutional court of Serbia.
“We have never done anything outside the law! Media reported that 17 of our members were arrested during the riots following the arrest of Ratko Mladic, but they did not clash with the police. They were arrested before the rally, because they weren’t carrying any identification papers, and then they were mistreated in the police station Palilula and freed at 10pm,” says Ivanovic.
What are you going to do if the Constitutional court also bans your group?
We will not accept that kind of a decision and we will continue to act. We will be present in the public eye, but we will not allow our members and sympathizers to be the victims of police brutality and we will find a way to spread our opinion. The government is afraid of our participation in the elections.
